I agree with other reviewers that the plastic clasp is not that good. My parents were on their way to India and had some suitcases with a bit of bloat so we used them to reinforce the midsections. So we tightened them up pretty well - to the point where we tightened the straps as tight as we could. be tightened and loosened between 1" and 2" play. This resulted in a snug fit, but not one where the clasp was tight. We needed three but we bought six just in case. Luckily they all held out with this buffer time and no backups were required. I would recommend you find some with metal buckles but if you can't then this is a good and probably cheaper alternative.
