My husband bought this add-on to use with our existing security camera. We installed a few in our house and decided to install one outside of our patio. Unfortunately, the USB cable for the camera we bought was too short, which was a great solution. This extension is a male to female extension and is therefore very easy to use. Simply connect the shorter USB cable to one end of this cable and the other end to your electronic device/security camera. This extension is 10 feet long, which is more than enough to install our CCTV camera. This is an extremely durable braided nylon cable that will not tangle or bend. The necks are reinforced so you don't have to worry about them bending, wearing out or getting damaged. You can also use this cable to extend any of your existing USB cables. My son sits in the third row in our huge Chevy Surburban all the time, but he can never charge his Kindle where he sits when the battery is low. Now he just carries this extension with him in our truck and can still sit in the back seat and use his device while charging. Now that he's using it for his Kindle, we'll probably buy a few more to keep around the house and our security cameras handy. Good product!
