, After searching for a lighting solution for home newborn photography, I discovered a very simple, easy and absolutely effective way of shooting through the light with this umbrella. I already had the light stand and bulb from the softbox I bought (the softbox was too small and hence the light was harsh) so all I had to do was add that and the tripod adapter. I chose the 60" translucent Neewer umbrella over the 72" because I'm traveling to my clients' homes with my newborn and needed something as compact as possible, yet large enough to fit me give enough soft light. This applies to both! It's very light, about the same height as my tripod with adapter on top when fully folded, so I can pack it in the same bag for portability. I added weight to the stand to make it a little more secure. For less than $75 I have the perfect lighting kit for all my window lighting needs.
