Review on Malco Modes Crinoline Petticoat Underskirt Girls' Clothing by Lisa Adams

Pretty but not as well made as I had hoped

Our daughter really is a "girl-girl"! She loves dolls and dresses, tea sets and wraps. I thought this petticoat would be a great addition to her elegant collection. It was good but not the quality I expected. First, the packaging was inadequate. The skirt was crumpled, rolled into a cylinder and stuffed into a small plastic bag. Consequently, all the ruffles are crumpled. My wife said to shake it out and hang it up hoping the fabric would loosen up, but after a few hours of no alteration we realized the only way to fix it was to hand lace the dress wash, then shake it out and air dry. The powder pink color is adorable. I was a little disappointed that the color of the satin at the hem was different than the rest, but it looked nice. Four levels are evenly spaced and gradually filled. They appear to be well sewn, but I would not machine wash, even on a delicate mode. The elastic waistband is well stitched, but it's just a satin-wrapped strip of rubber that will most likely break quickly. My wife is also concerned about the side seams, which are simply sewn with a single chain stitch that will likely unravel soon. Of course, none of this information applies to our daughter. She just finds it funny to wear that puffy skirt under her dress because she looks like a princess or a dancer. A whole bunch will spin for a while! Since this petticoat is quite see-through, she needs to wear shorts, a bathing suit, or a jumpsuit underneath so no one can see her nondescript pieces. If you have an older daughter who likes to dress up, this skirt can be a poodle skirt, a dress, or a cabaret dancer outfit. For people with sensitive skin, tight underwear can be itchy. However, the right suit makes it incredibly bulky, and you can always wear a jumpsuit underneath. These petticoats also come in a variety of colors to match or contrast with the outfit. At the time of writing this review, these garments cost around $20-$30 depending on the size. I think it is cool. My wife says that tulle is not easy to sew and not very cheap, which can affect the price. They are also made in the USA, which makes them more expensive. But we dads are going to spend ridiculous sums on our little princesses, aren't we? Just don't expect me to wear one of these, okay?
