Review on 🐱 K&H Pet Products Multi-Kitty A-Frame Outdoor Kitty House - Heated or Unheated Cat Shelter by Luciano Filpo

Thank you IF you have a covered patio or a nice tarp!

So I've been watching videos and spending so much time building shelters, buying straw, trying to lure my two wild girls over the past two months and nothing has worked. I was pretty sure this cat house was going to be another big flop. Installed it on our covered patio this morning and waited all day, no bites. I originally installed it on our indoor-outdoor dining table, thinking they might feel more secure if it was elevated. (They used to sleep on the table.) But I was worried they would freeze tonight, so I ended up putting them on the floor under the table. One cat came in briefly and left, then the other came in and went, and then FINALLY, 14 hours later, they were both happily snuggling together. I have an outdoor outlet so I went with the heated version and they seem to love it! In any case, I would like to pass on some important tips so that you, the other customers, will also be successful. Some websites advise luring them into the house with food, but I read today that that's the last thing you want to do. Cats instinctively feel threatened because they know food attracts predators and they don't want to eat where they sleep. Tip #2: Place food bowls 8-10 feet from the cat house. The third tip is to sprinkle in some catnip. Fourth tip: Do not put the doors (with Velcro) on until the cats start actively using the house. Wild cats are not used to swings and this can be an initial deterrent. I plan to add mine in a few days. A NOTICE. When the bed is pushed in, the flaps supplied become too long! I cut about half an inch from the bottom of the set. You may need to play with yours again, I have a heated bed and it can be thicker than an unheated bed. Hope that helps! Trying to send my feral cats to a shelter is one of the hardest things I've ever tried! This is a great alternative to quickly installing a much stronger wooden structure.
