They work amazingly well! I use them to keep the waterproof cover on top of the orthopedic foam that rests on top of my actual mattress. It wasn't until I received the case that I realized the sides weren't waterproof, meaning that if it slipped at all sweat would run down the edges and soak into the very difficult to clean foam top. These sheet holders were bought as a solution and worked great. Because these holders were so affordable, I'm really impressed with how firmly they hold the lid in place. They never slipped off and neither did the lid. They were easy to use the first time. Note that the hole is wider on one side than the other. Use this edge as a guide when placing the holder on the edge of the mattress. They are only suitable for mattresses with a raised edge. It won't work for the Tempur-Pedic, for example, which is uniform all around and doesn't have a raised rim to attach these clips to. But as you can see from my photo, it even works with a 3 inch mattress topper. I have used elastic stretch retainers in the past and they are much better in my opinion. No fumbling with the buckle, no lifting of the mattress corners and the sheets stay exactly in place without slipping. So glad I found her! Well thought out, love the price and they really do their job.
