Benefits: Flexible enough to crawl under the front seat on a delta airplane. The airline has never questioned its size despite pushing the boundaries of what is possible. My dog felt comfortable in it, although he is a bit big. She is an 18lb Bichon/Shitzu mix. She can't stand in it with the zipper closed, which scares her a bit. It was comfortable for her to lie in it and at the gate, and on the plane we expanded the sides so she could stretch out. Take the time to get the dog used to moving in it. It seems well made and the zippers and mesh are Colombian and vice versa. I can't imagine traveling that far without a bike rack. I liked how easy it was to put on and take off the trolley. Large velcro straps keep it in place by reaching to the floor. I removed the dog and attached or removed the cart and then put the dog back in. The velcro also prevents it from sticking to the carpet when you close it after removing the trolley. The bag can also sit on top of the suitcase but my little dog is really too heavy to do this safely. It folds down for storage, which is handy, and can be stored upstairs (it won't fit under a seat with a cart attached). The grip seemed to work well and the lining is snug. I tried two carrier bags from different suppliers before finding one my dog was comfortable in. Most of them are undersized unless you have a cat or small dog. Cons: She swayed onto the side she was lying on, I walked alongside Stan whenever possible so I didn't hit or trip over anyone speeding by. I followed him because he was being dragged behind us. We had the top open so she could sit, but she was leaning against the side of the stroller and she was leaning that way. It wasn't a big problem for us, but keep that in mind. The carrier is lightweight and will likely tip over if you try to run around the airport with it. Because it's so flexible, our dog is suspicious, I don't know how to fix this, and still slides it under an airplane seat. Also, there is no attachment for feeding or watering the dog, you just place the plate on the floor. Again, this is a padded side holder so I don't know how to fix that. Because airplane seats are getting smaller and now have seats with electronics boxes underneath, I don't know what else would fit. One day we came on board, our dog stretched out and fell asleep. In conclusion, I look at this carrier in the same way as in the days of umbrella strollers. They were absolutely amazing and did their job, but we had an obligation not to let them tip over and hurt our kids. These soft side straps share the same great features. It is lightweight, portable, foldable and very convenient for travel. The animal must not be left unattended. It's not the sturdy kennel of the past, so don't expect it to be indestructible. We had a wonderful trip out of town with our pup and she was happy and excited to be with us. This carrier made it possible!
