Very thin in the corners when making the bed. I banged my finger on it the first time I used it. The part you need to keep the whole mattress dry is fine and does what it's supposed to do and that's the main thing. A bit noisy when you turn over or climb into bed, even with a quilted mattress topper over it, but my son doesn't seem to mind. I would buy these again as they are getting harder and harder to find. The ones marked waterproof can keep the mattress dry but when my son pees on the bed waterproof smells like urine so it needs to be washed every time along with all the other bedding. Vinyl works great and a quick wipe down with Lysol saves me a step in the washing process! I hope this review helps another parent!
