Ordered this item to replace a noisy fan clutch shaft bearing in a 1998 Cherokee. The factory says this is a maintenance free component, but a little research has shown this part to be an exact replacement for a worn, noisy bearing. It's quite difficult to remove the bracket holding this bearing. Pressing the old one out of its holder isn't too bad with a hydraulic press. When the new bearing (made in India) arrived I measured it and compared it to the old one I squeezed out. The diameters were the same. The length of the new bearing is different (longer) than the old one, but in this case it doesn't matter. The decisive factor is the game in the new camp. I noticed it straight away. The shaft moves noticeably within the bearing. A new bearing should be tight and smooth, not sloppy and rough. It rattles when you shake it! I measured 0.017 inch side to side shaft deflection of the new bearing, it's awful. The noisy bearing only had 0.008 inches of deflection measured at the same point. I have chosen not to install this part. Wasn't worth the time to see how it would sound. To be honest I gave 2 stars instead of 1 as I didn't actually install it. I found a similar American made part at a tractor shop that worked fine. I'll leave the dingy new for Show and Tell.
