Review on Polk Audio 265-RT: Vanishing Series In-Wall Speaker with Power Port – High-Performance Audio for Front, Rear, or Surround Use – Easily Install in Ceiling or Wall – Paintable Grille, Black by Brett Morrison

Great speakers, but for a full sound system you need a CSW-100.

These are great speakers and you really can't beat the offer. However, I found that I wasn't thrilled with the bass extension when I first installed it. For speakers that should only be 3dB lower at 43Hz, they don't put out much bass, not as much as I'm used to (mounted in the wall, with insulation routed behind and around them). I chose to pair them with a CSW-100 subwoofer and a SWA-500 matcher and it is now one of the best sounding setups I have with beautiful rich deep bass you can hear and feel . Certainly a lot of money for a few octaves more but worth it in my opinion and I now have a perfect stealth system in my home office (subwoofer mounted under the floor). I've also added some RC65i rear speakers to fill in, some of which have been in my home theater system since 2002 and I really like them.

Pros
  • Ceiling and Wall Mounted Speakers
Cons
  • Long Lead Time
