Review on 🎢 Enhance Your Driving Experience with CRUX BTS-TY1 Bluetooth Music Streaming for Scion and Toyota Vehicles by Mark Cole

Works well most of the time

I bought this for my 1998 Toyota Sienna because I was tired of having to use a cassette tape adapter (which is incompatible at best) and wanted an easier way to listen to music, especially on long drives. If there hadn't been a few things it would have been 5 stars. But here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Fairly easy installation - The hardest part was removing the screws to take out the stereo, but other than that it was a very quick and easy process. - Usually works very well - I've only had maybe one of dozens of times where the connection was unstable and the audio dropped out, but this was fixed by quickly unplugging and plugging the bluetooth on my phone again. - Fast Pairing - Connection to my phone is almost always instantaneous and the voice over the stereo says "CRUX Bluetooth Connected" when the connection is successful. - Easy Storage - Because it plugs into the back of your stereo, it can be quickly slipped through the back and into the compartment below. Cons: - Sometimes he doesn't eat. when i start the car. Sometimes this is fixed by simply pressing the CD button on my radio, but most of the time I have to cycle the engine to get it to start again. Since I always check if it's plugged in before I go anywhere, this is more annoying than anything. Untested: - USB charging - You can connect your phone to USB for charging. device (old phone, iPod, etc.) you can get a normal extra cable and plug it directly to output sound. Overall I think it's very good that it exists, despite the occasional hiccup when turning on Bluetooth. It makes my 21 year old van (which I drive to and from work 99% of the time) much more enjoyable to drive and will make some long trips ahead much better. It's possible that my physical connection is a bit loose and this could be the cause of the power on issues, but since it works fine once plugged in, this seems unlikely. Anyway, I highly recommend it!

Pros
  • Doesn't have bluetooth hands free
Cons
  • is unreliable
