Okay I've had some time since I bought this tracker so I think I can reasonably speak of its capabilities. I used an extension cord with this tracker to keep its presence a secret and have had very few issues with the tracker's capabilities. So, for the record, you CAN use an extension cord if you can't afford to have your tracker recognized. To be honest there were some issues with weak signals and limited tracking when using the extension cord in the more rural areas the car ventured into. This device couldn't be easier to install. My device was installed, turned on and tracked within 30 seconds. 4 data packages are available. The better the package, the more frequently the device is updated, the more detailed information is obtained, and in the case of a tracked vehicle, even a diagnostic trouble code can be obtained. Family member or other significant person. Depending on the data package you choose (I recommend package 4), this tracker can provide the tracking history including street addresses for the last 72 hours. This is a "set it and forget it" device! You can choose the type of alerts you receive and even set "boundaries" (or geofences), speed limit alerts, oil change alerts, engine idling alerts and even sharp corner alerts. The FAQs are very limited but cover the most popular/basic questions. If you have any question, write to the developer, you will get a very quick response. The tracking map is top-notch: you can choose either a satellite view (with an expandable street view) or a map view with an accessible status window showing speed, direction, fuel level, diagnostic information, power location, ignition on/off, and altitude. You'll be hard pressed to find a better deal. The more you use this app, the easier it will be to use! I suggest trying ALL the features in the menu bar so you can see for yourself how awesome it is!
