An MSI 144Hz monitor was connected with a commercial DP cable. Shortly after, I had problems where the image would flicker or go black. I had to move the cable a bit and suddenly the image reappeared. And the slightest vibration or movement would cause signal degradation. I did some research and was surprised that these cables aren't like HDMI where one cable is just as good as any other. I didn't know the group with these cables either. I have read several articles that there are VESA certified cables that are recommended to purchase. It was one of them. Once installed, the cable was reliable and durable and had no issues with flickering or dimming. I'm glad I read about it and found a good cable to replace it with.
