I wouldn't set this up outside in the middle of a field or anything, but if it has some protection from the elements it should keep your little critters warm and dry. I have mine on a roofed porch. I covered one of the doors with a towel held in place with binder clips so it will stay warmer inside (I'm not expecting coyotes on my porch). On first examination I was thinking it would be extremely difficult to get the zipper started for attaching the roof, but after a couple minutes I found a way to get everything lined up right. Once started, the zipper went around just fine. Would buy again.
