This playpen is made of hollow metal tubes connected by plastic arches with three holes. The sides and bottom are made of plastic nylon mesh, and there are soft pads on the corners. Overall, it makes a pretty well-made impression. While assembly is easy, disassembly is easy as well. There are other features we don't use, like suction cup feet that work well on tile and top clips for hanging toys. The sides are quite convex when the handle is assembled. The carry case is very small and holds the handle parts well, although you will have to remove the corners and most of the pipe. There is a side zipper that makes it easy to take out items and critters. although the question is "why?" as kids can run away and the handle is only 27 inches tall and weighs 7 pounds making it easy to lift anything from the top. Besides, strong winds won't blow it away at 7lbs when you use it outdoors. I would recommend buying a bottom pad as it is made out of the same plastic and nylon as the sides. In general, this should last a long time before the sides crack or the corners get too stressed. I give this model a four star rating for its solid construction and the ability to reuse it for small dogs as the kids grow. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary.
