We just weathered a storm/blizzard here in New England and I wore them the whole time while clearing over 2 feet of snow that had piled up on us. The temperature was around 10-15 degrees when I was there and I've been there 2 times for 2.5-3 hours each (I have a long drive and don't have a huge snowblower). They kept my hands warm the whole time, both times, even when they got completely wet. The velcro to secure part of the mitten worked every time, even when covered in ice. I had to stretch my fingers out into the cold several times because they were so warm. The open fingers are a huge plus compared to the gloves I have, they let me interact with things I couldn't otherwise. They are the keepers in my book and when they retire I will buy another pair.
