Review on Sheepdog by Brian Potter

The ability to store data in multiple locations across many servers, allowing it to be more resilient than other solutions. This makes our infrastructure much easier to manage as we don't have to worry about managing so many different pieces of hardware. There are some downsides that I've found with using this software - mostly relating to the price point. We're looking at moving away from AWS EBS volumes (which work well but aren't cheap) and into something like Sheepdog which will allow us to better utilize capacity without paying too much money upfront.
