I've only worn them once, but they seemed to help support my ankle well for being low-cut socks. I have arthritis in my ankle and it often causes it to swell. I find that compression socks help. I wasn't sure if these socks would have enough compression in the right places to keep my joint from swelling, but it did. I washed the socks after wearing and they seem to have handled the washing just fine. I did not put them in my dryer, but laid them on top of the dryer to dry. I'll be wearing these socks often in the warmer weather.
