I figured the HEPA filter that came with the V10 should have been a 'lifetime' filter that just needs to be washed in the sink. This couldn't be further from the truth. I've tried cleaning this thing multiple times. I'm pretty sure it's just as dirty after washing and waiting 2+ days for drying. After a while the stench from the filter and vacuum got so bad that I knew it was time to change the filter. I went to Revain and of course there were many options. The official Dyson filter costs $40 for one filter. I think you should skip all the flushing nonsense and just replace the filter every few months. That quickly adds up to $40. I found this set of 3 for under $20. I thought it was an amazing price and definitely makes the filters disposable. But do they work as well as the original? Yes! They work just as well as the original. I couldn't even tell the difference when I put the original and new filters side by side. The fabric is just as thick and perfect for a vacuum cleaner. And above all, no smell!
