These bags are moderately strong. Of course, if you add too much weight, both the handles and the base will collapse; but with the right weight they are fine. I've finished bags around 4-5 pounds and they show no signs of wear. The brown paper is thick and perfect for my knitting and crocheting. I put stickers or stamps on one side of the bag and then put tissue paper inside. They make a great little thank you bag for small businesses. The paper holds the ink well without spreading inside. The handles are well secured so you can trust them for a few pounds. You can even use them to give away baked goods and put a sticker on the lid so they know it hasn't been opened. The 100 pack is good but I'm only giving it 4 stars because the value for money doesn't quite match the competition. You can get 100 bags for $15 while those 100 are for $25. Less than 0.30 per bag is good but still expensive compared to others. Overall they hold up very well and if you just want to buy quickly they will get the job done.
