Review on πŸ“± Spigen Tough Armor iPad Mini 3/2/1 Case - Metal Slate: Top-Grade Protection for Seamless iPad Experience by Peter Tennant

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent protection and slim design.

This is a great iPad case that is expected to withstand a little abuse. This case is durable and well made. So far we've used two of these for our kids' devices (8 and 12). Both experienced a few falls here and there - and the hull held up perfectly. It's well designed as a two-piece assembly that aims to protect the device from impacts from all directions - sides, corners, etc. It also has slightly raised edges (1.7mm) to protect the screen from scratches when the device is laid down face down on the surface. And those edges are wide enough to be compatible with screen protectors like Military Shield (which is what we currently use) and others. Overall, the case is very thin, especially considering the level of protection it offers. The device in this case works like a minimalist case, but with added durability and protection. The cover can be easily removed if necessary. The plastic/rubberized parts of the case are durable and remain smooth after 4+ years of use - no scuffs or scuffs, they won't stretch or loosen after the case has been removed/reinstalled multiple times. Space around the lock screen switch and lightning connector - no problem connecting Apple or 3rd parties to it. The volume controls are completely closed - they work well but require some effort. Nothing fancy - my 8 year old doesn't have a problem with this, but if you plan on using it with younger kids they'll probably need help adjusting the volume. The gap around the headphone jack is a bit small - slim plugs like Apple headphones fit in there - but anything with extra space around the plug is unlikely to fit in this case. It's worth noting that the speakers, lighting connector, screen lock switch, headphone jack, and camera are all exposed in this case, so don't expect any real protection from dust or splashes in these areas. However, in this case there are no annoying dangling port covers or any "moving parts". If you're looking for a slim, durable, and easy-to-use iPad case, this is the one for you.
