Review on πŸ–₯️ OSOYOO 2.4 Inches Screen Arduino Mega2560 Monitors: The Best Monitors for Your Arduino Projects by Wess Carstensen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well with 8-bit display (4 stars), does not work with 16-bit display (0 stars)

UPDATE (10/24/2022): Since I wrote this review, the product description has been corrected. Now it is clear that there are two different boards, an 8-bit version and a 16-bit version. ****************************** ****************** ** ************************************ *** This default display is based on some soldered jumpers, has an 8 -Bit display. This means that 8 pins are used to transfer data, which can be much faster than a display with a serial interface like SPI. The product description and help page state that jumpers can be used to switch to 16-bit mode. All my tests were successful in 8-bit mode. The screen looks great. Each sample program worked perfectly. I read and viewed images from the SD card. The touchscreen worked well with the included stylus. If you're looking for an 8-bit display, this option is fine. The typical screen size for a 480x320 screen is 3.5 inches, this one is 4 inches, and the price is half that of the average 3.5 inch display, and it's a good choice. Following the instructions I disconnected R4 and connected R5. made the appropriate settings in the libraries and sample code and the display stopped working. I changed the code back to 8-bit settings, leaving R4 disconnected and R5 connected, and the display worked as before. I noticed that the top 8 pins on the board are marked NC (Not Connected) indicating they don't do anything, which was exactly my experience. I have attached a photo of the circuit board I received and a photo from the product description page Thank you very much You can clearly see the pins are marked D8 to D15 in the product description photo but in my photo they are all marked NC .Basically, this board does NOT support 16-bit.
