if this fan had any hesitation it would be the perfect outdoor fan for me but well its all pros and cons and trade offs. I have 2 on my patio (1 for humans and 1 for dogs and cats). This releases a lot of air even at low levels (the cat prefers low levels). Now I can enjoy my favorite drink on the patio without constantly swatting flies. The first one I bought a few months ago has survived many heavy downpours and been hit by dogs with no damage as far as I can tell. Although this fan is wet, I also bought cable covers for the connector and a reset box. (get huge cases). This fan is high speed so don't expect a whisper, I was worried about decibels but the noise level is very tolerable. I have 2 different brands of high speed fans in my greenhouse and compared to them this fan is much, much quieter.
