It's always the carburetor on these small engines. With ethanol and a lack of use the jets get blocked. I've cleaned them and made it work. sometimes. Sometimes it still doesn't run right. This is the second carb I've installed on a Subaru EX30. Both started first pull after the install. Quick, easy fix and with the fuel filters, hose and clamps it's a no brainer.BTW, for a generator you really need a hertz meter or tachometer to set the governed speed correctly. 3,600 RPM and 60 cycles is what we're looking for (USA). After today's install it ran at 48 Hz (cycles per second). I had to re- set the governor speed to get the rpm up. It's not the carb, it was probably NEVER right.
