How well they work. I placed them in the hallway of our bedroom to "light the way". They turn on at least 5 feet away. Another one in the bathroom so there is no brighter ceiling light at night. If I had one change, it would be to lower the intensity so it doesn't "flare up" in our bedroom. I could play with white nail polish on the plastic cap part to tone down the brightness. For the elderly or those who do NOT need night lighting (or those who are not sensitive to light)... they are perfect... in my opinion. For a long hallway - perfect. Another plus is that they don't bind the switch plate. Enough space to connect something else. I keep one on our kitchen island switch panel by the top outlet - easy to hook up to a vacuum. I'll buy another set for the guest room I don't use much.
