Revainrating 4 out of 5

Soft, easy to use but could be firmer.

This is an overview of four related products purchased here at Revain.1. Modular communication module Klein Tools VDV826-703 Pass-Thru™, CAT6, 50 pcs. boxed (ASIN B076PRM7W8)2. Klein Tools VDV226-005 Compact Pass-Thru™ Modular Crimping Machine (ASIN B07R3GK9FQ)3. Soft plastic sleeves for Copapa RJ45 Ethernet cable connectors (ASIN B07219KGC4)4. H!Fiber 1Gbe Ethernet Network Adapter (ASIN B074PPRQQK) I'm using CAT 6 UTP (23 AWG) which I bought from my local home center.1. I found the Klein Tools VDV826-703 Pass-Thru™ Modular Communications Module (CAT6, 50 pcs) easy to use. This is my first time using end-to-end connectors and I have mixed feelings, but that's not the point. The 23 AWG wires are tight but require some convincing to get through. They're more expensive than some others, but I know they'll work perfectly, especially with the same brand of crimping tools.2. The Klein Tools VDV226-005 Compact Pass-Thru™ Modular Crimping Machine did the job flawlessly. Insulation is held tight, the crimp feels secure, and through wires are cut perfectly flush. Have yet to try cheap forks to see if they're flush cut too, but they work great with their own.3. Although I don't normally use boots, I decided to give them a try as they "finish" the wires. I bought a blue soft plastic RJ45 Ethernet cable connector from Copapa. Although they didn't cost much, they were very soft and fit well. I wish they were a little tighter around the wire but this can vary from brand to brand. Overall I am satisfied with them.4. After the cables were ready, I connected them to the H!Fiber network card (Intel I350-T4 chipset). They all go well together, even with boots. This NIC is not V2, which is to be expected. V2 is harder to find and there is no difference in performance. Made an optimization to fix a slight voltage spike when powering up. The NIC worked fine with pfSense and I was able to set up two LAGGs with LACP support. One to the Cisco managed switch and one to my cable modem (SB8200), but I'll save those for further checking. This card works perfectly.
