French Beige Fan on Lighting & Ceiling Fans

Let me start by saying that I bought two Minka Aire fans last year. These were "wet" fans designed to be installed in humid/open areas. The fans looked great and there was no hesitation. They work well too, but time will tell. i got minka aire f614-fb (french beige) today and just finished installing it about an hour ago. the fan doesn't look as "fat" as it does in the amazon product photo. There seems to be less polished gold/brown and more brown. This fan costs about double what I paid for the "wet" fan, but it doesn't seem to be that heavy. Also, there are some installation oddities that I didn't pay attention to. For example, if you want to remove the blades, you will need to disassemble the rear derailleur housing (located under the blades) to access the blade screws. but to my main complaint. the fan swung. I opened up the included blade balance kit and fiddled with it for about 45 minutes to no avail. Finally, I removed the blades and weighed them on a kitchen scale. The blades weighed between 450 and 456 grams including the bracket attached. I took the two lightest weight paddles and positioned them opposite each other, which reduced the wobble to an acceptable level. I think I was expecting more perfection based on last year's fan buying. Due to the extra work on the blades and the inferior optics, I give this fan 3.5 stars.
