I ordered these thinking they would be closer to athletic socks based on the compression points and reviews. They are thinner than I expected and definitely not athletic socks. They're way better than the thin socks you find at Target, but they're still too thin for my liking. They're almost too soft. Fit: I'm a women's size 9 and have a slightly narrower foot. My legs are pretty average width, but I'm tall. When I put them on they seemed to fit snugly, but they moved under my skate. They went to mid-calf as advertised. It stretches well so women with large feet should fit BUT they are very skinny so you may find they don't look well stretched on larger than average legs - they even become a bit see through. I bought them to wear ice skates. As I mentioned above, they moved on my skate. It was weird - like those socks were too soft. They also have an odd bond. Whenever I walk/stand in them on concrete, they stick to the ground and pull. Because I ride outdoors, I often wear socks on concrete. Because of these two issues, I will not wear these skates. I regret wearing a pair without trying them on at home because I'm so sorry I can't easily return them. If you want to wear a sock with sneakers for style/fashion and just for walking, this is great as they are very soft and thin enough to wear in warm weather. If you need performance socks, this isn't it.
