We have an existing Petsafe floor system and regularly need to replace the base unit in the event of a lightning strike or the collar if one of the other dogs treats it like a chew toy. In the past, we simply chose a different system, and it always worked. Not much so, I checked the compatibility list on the PetSafe website and there are very few collars that will work with this transmitter. It really does feel like a competent system and if you just install a brand new setup it will work. Everything is fine, but now I need to replace the other collars in the system to make them work with this base unit. Tenacious dog collars rated at 9V and last for months.
