I bought them for a strange reason. .for my flower beds. Snails do NOT like copper. It reacts negatively to moisture in her body. Since pure copper coins are hard to find, they were my backup. I sprinkled them around my elephant ears and other places where snails like to live and eat. Since they don't have sharp ends, they don't hurt me when I'm working on the beds. They also last longer than the slug and slug pellets you can buy. A copper ring around each snail plant would have been better but much more expensive.
