Works great once you set it up

I live in an old house that was built before there were lights in the closets. I also had an unlit garden shed that could benefit from lighting. So I bought two previous models of this lamp for it. I found the light worked great in both locations. It's so bright and the sensor is accurate enough to simply open a closet or barn door to turn on the light. Ideal. Then winter came, and the barn's battery died in the cold. Boo-hoo. I've been working in dark places for the last few months and on a whim I decided to use a light in my work closet. Wow. That was great. That day I decided to buy two more and bought two copies of this modernized model. This model is brighter and works the same way. I will not use it in the shed. Rather, I use them in a little-used closet and in a deep basement closet that was too dark to find things. Again they do a great job and as a bonus I now have three lights to take over. out of the closet (with their magnetic strips) and used as task lights. My only complaint is that both versions of these lights are quite difficult to take apart out of the box or once charged. Basically, they have a soft-touch button that you hold down for a set amount of time and watch the colored LEDs turn on and off, indicating what mode the light is in (e.g. motion detection , motion + light detection). . The instructions for this are poorly translated and printed in small print on tiny pieces of paper. They are both difficult to read and difficult to understand. The actual way to set these is to know that the little LEDs change the longer you hold the button down, and then just try other settings to see if they're good enough. This is madness. Six months later, when you need to recharge the battery (yes, the charge lasts a long time), most people lose almost useless instructions and are literally fumbling around in the dark. Come on. But the usage of these lanterns is so high that even this stupidity didn't affect my rating very much.
