Bottom height only 11.25 inches. The edge height is only 3 inches. The dome rises gradually. However, I wouldn't trust a 0.6" center to make a wall for attaching two thin handles. Actual height may be less than 3 1/2 inches. That's a terrible design. If the handle were a solid rubber rope. Loop around the side lock, that would be much more practical. One comment says it's good for two pies. This is only possible if the cake is very thin. I just baked a gugelhupf. When I put it in a container, I can't close the lid unless I smash the middle a bit! It's very pretty and elegant - with a special bottom. If you can save $20, it's a good carrier for your filled eggs, muffins or napkins. But if you like pies and bundt cakes, this is not the choice. Too bad there are very few good designs on the market. Take my Tupperware. Its height is 7 inches. Good for a three-layer cake, but ridiculous for a tart or ring cake. If this container could be an inch taller and wider it would be a lot more functional.
