To be honest I didn't know what Laurel Rum smelled like, but this one isn't bad at all. What really reminds me is a big red bubble gum or some kind of cinnamon spice candy. It's very light, so don't expect a harsh taste. I'm brand new to the beard game so like most retiring from the military you're doing things you never got to do before. For me it was a beard growth. I've researched a decent amount of beard products and what really drew me to this brand is that it's already complex enough to know what you need, but then sorting through 20+ scents is ridiculous. The limited but important selection of products with multiple base flavors made my decision a lot easier. I will order more and find out which flavor is really for me.
