Your dog will get wet anyway

Dog raincoat is more of an odd purchase. Let's be honest, what we want most is for our dogs to look cute and trendy. No matter which raincoat you buy for your dog, he will still get wet, this is inevitable. This coat fits my pit bull from head to toe. in length. There's no reasonable way to get their front paws in their sleeves and still stick their head through the small opening that leads to the hood. The hood is fairly loose fitting and slides back easily and is removed with a simple shake of the head or even a slight gust of wind, making it rather useless as water flows from the head down the neck, back and chest. The body of the coat is water resistant, but the single Velcro closure on the belly does little to prevent water from getting onto the dog's lower body. The back leg straps that hold the back down are weak (for comfort reasons, I'm sure), but they can cause your dog's tail to lift up the back, allowing water to get in there too. At best, the center of your dog's back stays dry. It also emits a weird factory smell. Not scary, but not pleasant either. However, my dog loves it! On rainy days she points to it and barks softly to make us keep it on before going outside. Maybe looking good is better than feeling good? I wouldn't buy it again as there is a lot to try. For now, however, it's an integral part of our canine lives.
