I use this device for class recording, so I'm only using its basic functions. It's lightweight and easy to use, which I like. I also like the simple USB interface. I use the built in microphone and it works perfectly, but I also place the recorder next to the lecturers so it should work fine. Since most smartphones can do the same job, I'd say it's more of a nice accessory than a must-have. However, having a smartphone has several advantages: - If I forget to pick it up after the lecture, I don't lose a very expensive phone. - Using it instead of a phone saves my phone's battery.
