I make jewelry out of Old World coins (which are no longer mintable for various reasons). We visit a local coin dealer and pay 10 cents per coin or $8 per pound of various coins from around the world. Some have definitely seen better days, especially those who are 100 years or older. True numismatists know that coins are never cleaned or polished as this devalues them; but since I use them as jewelry to make earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. I like them clean and shiny! That's great. You squeeze something out of the tube and rub it into the coin, let it dry a bit and then polish it. The tarnish comes off immediately, leaving a clean and shiny coin with a long lasting shine, eliminating the need to polish again soon. I have also used this on brass, copper and silverware and the ease of tarnish removal makes it a winner!
