I bought this product because Autometer Boost didn't have compression fittings and taps to install the gauge and elbow. The gauge comes with a plastic tee for use with the MAP hose. If you have a Ford 6.0 this is not recommended as it will cause the boost gauge to jitter. It is best to tap and install on the inlet pipe. If you are using a standard or non-threaded elbow, you will need to purchase this kit so you can connect the hose to the elbow. It's also nice to have the extra hose that comes with this kit in case you ever bend the hose that came with the gauge.
