This is Windows 10 from Windows 7. Settings stopped working the same day I started it. Creating an original restore point proved pointless without working settings. But I was still able to access the control panel. However, after a few weeks I needed adjustments to tweak something. I googled the problem and was told to use Windows 10 USB. Luckily I had it on hand because this laptop didn't have any recovery options. But after I chose to restore to USB it said the OS was in the wrong folder. I need to reinstall Windows 10 Pro. Apparently after that I checked the Control Panel Recovery Options only to see Windows 7 in a menu. That would explain the problem with the folder. There is no product key as it is an upgrade. This means I need the product key even if I reformat the drive. Running Belarc Advisor also confirms that it is a digital upgrade license. I see 2 possibilities. I can try to get a copy of Windows 7 and upgrade to Windows 10, or I can try to find a Windows 10 upgrade and hope it works. In hindsight I should have bought from a well known brand that has been updated not this one. But I'll update this review if I find a solution that works. Until then, this laptop is useless for my purposes. Update: Win10 update fixed the previous issue but computer is still frustrating. Come on, at least it can display 12 seconds video in 1 video second. This corresponds to about 0.5 seconds per frame. I adjusted the power settings to keep the screen on when the lid is closed and connected two USB hubs (one on each side). The left hub connects my 2.5" hard drive array for an additional 16TB of storage, while the right hub connects my keyboard, mouse, HDMI to USB monitor adapter, and card reader. Purposes of Entering Performance Data. It might be best suited for a child's first laptop. I very much regret this purchase. The only benefit of this laptop is that it works where my previous laptop had cooling issues. My previous laptop was much faster and was purchased almost 10 years ago.
