Excellent quality, works great

UPDATE 17-23-17: My refill finally ran out. The first was installed on 04/21/16 and lasted until 01/23/17. We print quite a bit (for home use, not for the office) and it took 9 months. Good experience! I've put my second one in (bought two packs) and it fits and works great, but I'll wait about 6-7 months before ordering again because they last so long. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I inherited an HP 4480 All In One from my relatives and used it as a backup for my regular printer (which has no scanner platform). 4480 fits and I decided to leave both printers connected. The main printer (HP OfficeJet 6000) is only loaded with new paper, and the 4480 is loaded with previously used paper (so I print drafts or working copies on the back for home use). I didn't want to pay HP for full price cartridges for that. My mother-in-law left an unopened HP 75 ink cartridge, but the HP 74 ink cartridge that was put in was dry. I tried to revive it but it was too far (Youtube is full of videos showing how to clean dried ink from an HP cartridge like this with boiling water and hydrogen peroxide) going to a depth of about 1/ 4 inches was loaded. In any case, I needed an inexpensive solution to get black ink directly. I read all the reviews and decided to buy a Valuetoner remanufactured ink cartridge. I ordered 2 packs of black ink for about $8 including free shipping, order was fulfilled quickly by ValueToner. Each cartridge was individually sealed in a plastic bag with a yellow tab attached to a small sheet of clear mylar or plastic that held the critical inkjet holes covered at the bottom of the cartridge. Additionally, there is a latch (removable black plastic) that clamps the entire front and bottom of the cartridge, providing complete protection. If you didn't know better, you'd think you had just got one HP cartridge! I opened a package, removed the cartridge, removed the protective cover, removed the yellow tab with the clear plastic/mylar protection, opened up the HP 4480 and installed the cartridge in the same place I had removed the HP 74, which only had one regular HP 74 (no HP 74XL), so I found that the ValueToner cartridge is actually the XL version. It fits seamlessly into tight spaces. The HP 4480 was immediately happy and started by asking to print an alignment page. I printed an alignment page, scanned it when prompted, and the HP 4480 was very happy to let me know that the new cartridge was aligned. I took an old HP 74 cartridge, put a protective film on it and snapped the protective cover open. This allows me to store my used cartridge; At some point in the future I will try to refill when both of my "new" ValueToner cartridges run out. I've had this for a few weeks now and have printed probably 1/2 ream of paper with no loss of print quality. . ValueToner exceeded ALL my expectations! If you don't refuel yourself, this is the best option available (and probably better than refueling yourself). I've attached two photos, one showing the difference in length (side view) and the other showing the labels for ValueToner cartridges and older HP cartridges. .

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
