So just a little background, I wanted to use them for cycling in combination with the outer case. The outer gloves I use are the Assos S7, which are rated for 32-45 degrees Fahrenheit (approx) on paper. When riding in temperatures above 37-40 my fingertips usually got cold after 1.5 hours. At 2 a.m. my hands lost some feeling and by 2.5 a.m. they were completely numb. I wanted to invest in some liners to maybe "buy" some more time in the saddle while looking for more off-season miles. I originally bought the 'Subzero' liners from Serius, they are very thick (almost like gloves) and don't fit my gloves. These Thermax pads are quite thin and are perfect for Assos gloves. In particular, the biggest difference between a Seirus liner and a $1 gas station knit glove is that the Seirus wick wicks sweat fairly well, so your hands won't get cold despite the slight breeze. I wore them over this last weekend on a 2 hour road trip with Assos gloves where the average temperature this weekend was 32F and my hands were fine the whole time. It's not the warmest possible, but I didn't lose the feeling and I didn't "think" about it during the ride. I know everyone has their own personal cold/warm ratings, but in my opinion these earbuds were a great investment!
