It's a nice long thick cable and it worked fine for a while but then one of the ends started to separate. Bending the cable near the end breaks or breaks the connection, as if the internal wires shorted out or became detached from the HDMI connector. The long HDMI cable needs to be rolled up to keep it out of the way when not in use. The cable must be designed with this in mind and the wire must have enough slack to handle it. It's not like I wrapped it tightly or abused it or anything.
