The adapter worked perfectly right out of the box. Highly recommended as a replacement for an Apple OEM charger at a fraction of the cost. Note, however, that this charger only has a plug, not an Apple plug for about six feet of wall outlet power cord. This wasn't a problem for us as we simply swapped the new charger's solo connector for the Apple device's power cord connector. Our new pup ate the charging cable on the Apple charger but left the power cord intact - we were lucky.
