Review on Bentonite Clay (2 lb.) by Pure: Eco-Friendly Packaging, Fine Powder, Cosmetic & Food Safe – Ideal for Face Masks and Cleansing by Yousef Dudley

Eco-friendly packaging

I originally bought this product for its paper packaging because its competitors use plastic packaging (and I paid a few dollars more for it). The clay pouch arrived wrapped in plastic (this is due to Revain's packaging and distribution). However, my biggest gripe with this product is the packaging around the clay. Yes, the outside of the bag is paper, but the inside is covered with foil/plastic. The materials are environmentally friendly individually (paper and film), but must be disposed of due to mixed materials. That's just greenwashing. In summary: bentonite clay is good quality and I have used it to make homemade toothpaste and face masks. The packaging consists of mixed materials and must be disposed of in the general waste (not recyclable or compostable). If you want to be "green," I would buy the largest plastic container you can and then reuse the container.
