These splints are designed to fully immobilize the wrists and hold them in the ideal position when this level of fixation is required. I have to wear them at night to keep my wrists straight behind the carpal tunnel. They are so tight that it would be difficult to wear them during the day and still function properly. The average size recommended for my wrist doesn't fully enclose it, and the three Velcro straps that bridge the gap are very uncomfortable against the skin. I put pieces of paper towels under the straps to soften them, but this makes them awkward to put on and take off. I bought another wrist brace - Mueller Green Maximum Support and I find it much more comfortable while keeping my wrists straight at night. I actually type with them now. I couldn't do it with Champion. They also have a comfortable knit lining that protects the skin from velcro. Two wide bands instead of four thin bands are much easier and quicker to adjust. The price is comparable. Two stars off for the strap design.
