Trying to carry around a large U-lock is a major torture for your reproductive system and most of us just give up and toss the heavy mother in a backpack. It's not a big problem. to install as it uses a very small and probably difficult to replace screw holding the mount to the handlebars (thumbscrews are always recommended for this type of device) but once screwed in it seems to stay put. I've had it for about a month, ridden the hybrid bike around town and on soft trails, and it hasn't wobbled or wobbled. It looks silly, but it's the best solution I've found so far. Even works with headlights on both sides of the gooseneck, so doesn't take up much space on the side.
