These bobby pins are perfect for thick hair. I have thick wavy hair like my granddaughter. She is a figure skater, spins and jumps. I gave her the package and she said her hair stayed in a bun throughout the session. At school she wore them with pigtails around her head all day. We have no problem getting them out. I push on the double end while pulling on the curved end and they come right out. If you have thick hair, you're used to "losing" a bit in it from time to time, so it's okay.
