Quantity Doesn't Exceed Quality

Although this set looks a little impressive at first and second glance. There are a few pointers to help put this set in perspective with others. And in this market oversaturated with budget makeup brush sets, it's important to pay attention to the details. I would say that it is quite difficult, almost impossible, for the average buyer to evaluate this type of makeup brush set. I can help you because I have carefully studied several dozen such sets over the past few years. You should pay attention to this: I don't really know how to advise you on the quality of the synthetic hair or the bristles themselves. I'm not a scientist who can tell you how real hair works. And I don't have a microscope to check them. But I can tell you that some of them feel very tear resistant and others are very soft. What is interesting about this set: Regardless of the brush, all tips feel very soft. There are no bristle brushes in this line. Aside from being soft and lacking in tensile strength, most of the brushes in this set lack the density or compactness of brush heads. In other words, more hair had to be stuffed into each ferrule before it was clamped, pinched. More hair creates better density, resulting in better tensile strength, resilience and springback. In addition, the brush set should have different tensile strength values, different hair/bristle diameters, different hair/bristle compositions. It is strange that all these nozzles are thin and soft. Yes, some hairs are different colors, but most of the time the hairs appear to be the same or very similar. I'm not sure what this observation relates to, but since I really care, I'll say it now: Yes, I don't like using a shorter brush head and rubbing my face on the tip! This is the case with some of these brushes. Not enough hair on the brush head? Too soft hair? Is the clip too big for the nozzle? I don't know, but it really annoys me. In general, the tips used in this set are of good quality. You hold your hair well. There were only three brushes that I could pull more than ten hairs out of. So it's not that bad. Although the pens are nice and sturdy, with a nice paint finish that doesn't smudge, I found that some of the pens were oversized in diameter. And I have hands with long thin fingers. On the subject of cutting hair: I had to touch up about half of the brushes. I either had to cut my hair too long or I had to try and reshape the roots because they were asymmetrical or not tapering evenly or with the right gradation. Is this set suitable as a gift? No, I don't think so. It comes in nice packaging, but the smell from the plastic case is a bit overpowering. (Yes, the smell will dissipate over the course of the day, but the initial smell suggests it's a cheap case. And that impression doesn't go away.) Also, an experienced person will notice some flaws with these brushes. While a person with little experience will be a little overwhelmed by so many brushes - and not a single helpful hint or explanation of what each brush does. This last point is a big hurdle for me. Hope all this information helps. I know this is a long review but I am writing this so my experience is not wasted. Maybe you can use it to help you decide. One last thing, with proper handling and washing, a more expensive brush can last well over a decade. So maybe think of your brushes as an investment. And: I think synthetic brushes are a good choice and are certainly easier to care for than natural bristles and bristles.
