I used it to sew an endless pile of cotton wool that I used for the embroidered patchwork blocks. I ran out of squares that I had already cut out, I ended up with a huge pile of junk and couldn't justify buying cotton without at least trying those junks on this band and was good to go..I ran out of water which is tap water in my house insanely hard and it was too late to run to the store so I worked with that, I don't know how it works with steam but my blocks stuck together well, they didn't tear, the tape didn't come off and you me knew it was sewn only by looking at it, once it was embroidered and finished, you couldn't tell. I haven't tried it on large quilt pieces. I usually use leftovers from my Q uilts for higher There are no blocks, so almost all of my hitting mass is used. I would use that if needed, and I can do it on both sides for a large piece (I only made one, it was for a wall mount, no one should know) just in case.
