Motor not mounted securely

I was disappointed when I took it out of the box as it was thinner, wobbly and appeared cheaper overall than other similar fans I own. When I plugged it in it made a few clicks/scratches and I had to turn it off. When I removed the back panel, I found that the motor was held in place by two screws, but was not securely fastened (I could easily rock it back and forth, just enough for the fan to touch the cage). stuck so I took them off and put them back with the washers. The problem is that they were too long for the mounting holes. With the washers installed, I was able to secure the motor in place. It no longer makes clicking/scratching noises as the fan blade doesn't wobble or bang against the cage. It's still cheap and wonky (the rotation mechanism is severely weakened), but at least it works.
