Review on πŸš€ High-Performance Traxxas 6852R Steel Spline Constant Velocity Shafts - Unparalleled Durability for Ultimate Power and Precision by Chris Moody

Incredibly weak shafts

I bought these for my Slash 4x4 VXL Ultimate after tearing one of the factory plastic hubs. I used a 5200mah 3S lipo and after about 10 cycles the right rear shaft failed at the joint on the factory plastic block. I did jumps, countless crashes and wheelies and really enjoyed it. After the shaft failed I decided to get one of these kits hoping my Slash won't fail again due to a gimbal failure. After a small jump (less than 1ft vertical) and landing in the grass, to my surprise the left rear wheel came off the car and decided to walk. I suspected that maybe the lug nut was loose. When I picked up the car I found that the end of the axle was broken. They didn't even take 5 minutes. I even loosened the slipper clutch a bit to relieve the axles. I don't know if it's poor manufacture or just a poor quality product or if I'm just unlucky. Right now I wish I'd spent money on them and just bought a bunch of factory spares since they're only about $12 each. Obviously they can be restored so I'll buy the parts, restore them and keep them as a last resort I suppose. If you decide to buy them, I hope you have a better experience.

Pros
  • Rear axles for 1/10 4x4 Slash, Rally and 4x4 Stampede models
Cons
  • Minor things
